We Get It!
When people with reflective vests show up on or near our property, we tend to think the worst-"Somebody's gonna be digging up my yard or the street and making an absolute mess of everything!"
Fear not, my friend!
We are Utilities Engineers, and we are only here to collect information about one of the public utilities in or near your neighborhood - important information - so you can have more reliable electric service or access to faster high-speed internet, making life better for you, your family, and your neighbors.
Our Field Engineers are here as official representatives from your local cable, telephone, power, or fiber provider, so they can offer you and your neighbors better service.
We won't be here long, usually just a few minutes as we pass through your area. We would love to stay a while, chat about the weather, or talk sports and such, but there's much work to do!
We often need to visit poles or pedestals that are placed to measure things, like the distance between utility poles, underground facilities, and sometimes we even take pictures of certain elements of those utility systems. We are not (intentionally) photographing you, your property, or your beautiful shrubberies. And, we promise, we are not judging you for the unkempt backyard, strewn with toys and unfinished projects (we have kids too!).
Your home and property are not the focus of our data collection; only the utility structures on or near your property—such as power poles and cable pedestals—are, and these are sometimes located in utility easements at the edge or back of your property.
Our engineers are fully vetted, experienced professionals who have all passed rigorous character and criminal background checks, so you can rest easy knowing that you, your family, and your property are safe!
We know there are others out there knocking on your door, trying to sell you solar panels, give you a roof repair estimate, or jump out of the bushes to reach you about your extended car warranty. ... We are not those people.
We will be on and off your property as quickly as possible!
